The Castagna di Montella has a medium or medium-small size, it is mainly roundish, a thin pericarp, of light brown colour, and has a white, crispy and pleasing sweet taste.
The production area involves the municipalities of Montella, Bagnoli Irpino, Cassano Irpino, Nusco, Volturara Irpina and part of the municipality of Montemarano.
